Note: This is a mandatory update as it involves a hard fork of the network. Please make sure you are running 2.0.0.5 to ensure that you're on the correct blockchain and not at risk of losing your Groestlcoins. Do not send your wallet.dat file to anyone.

This update is mandatory meaning you have to update. This is an quick and easy update that should be started immediately. As per block 100k, the network will hardfork to adopt a new difficulty retargeting algorithm.

Once downloaded, close the groestlcoin wallet if you have it opened. Open the file you've downloaded.
That's it. You're all updated.

Recommendations:
•If you're reading this post after the 20th of May 2014, DO NOT TRANSFER any coins until you've updated to 2.0.0.5. The 2.0.0.5 update is mandatory and must be updated.
•Encrypt your wallet. This can be done by clicking the settings menu from inside the wallet. Make sure your password is secure and do not forget it.
•Make a copy your wallet.dat file as a backup:
Location Windows: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\groestlCoin\wallet.dat
Location Mac: Finder -> Go {Hold Option] -> Library -> groestlcoin -> wallet.dat (~/Library/Application Support/groestlcoin/)

How to check if you're on the correct block chain:
1.Go to your newly updated, synced groestlcoin wallet and open it. Click on Help>>Debug
2.Now click the console tab and type getblockhash 100001 ("Block number out of range. (code -1)" means you need to wait for your wallet to sync)
3.If you see 00000000012a42b54c21a7ada3b851c96a248348779b27db451cf6fda69916bb you are on the correct chain and the update is complete.
4.If you see 0000000003321c926bf6373858812f9a001e44a74cbfce5d4030f4b50b55cc46 you are on the wrong chain please see the information below.
5.To get back onto the correct chain please make sure you're using 2.0.0.5 and the wallet app is closed
•Windows: Navigate to C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\groestlCoin and back up your wallet.dat file by making a copy of it and moving it to a secure location.
•Mac: Navigate to ~/Libarary/Application Support/groestlcoin and back up your wallet.dat file by making a copy of it and moving it to a secure location.
6.Now that you have your wallet.dat file backed up. Please remove the rest of the contents of the groestlcoin folder and keep it in a safe place for the time being. You do not need to delete it until you've confirmed wallet 2.0.0.5 is working.
7.Open the new wallet version 2.0.0.5 and allow it to sync with the network. This will take some time.
8.Once the wallet has synced it will be empty. Please close the wallet and place a copy of the backed up wallet.dat file back into the groestlcoin folder.
9.Perform steps 1-3 to confirm you're on the correct block chain.

If you were one of the very few people on the wrong fork and have transfered coins you will need to go back to your lastest wallet.dat back up and use that to get any coins back.
